Dragon's Nest is a large two bedroom apartment that has recently been created in a historic building dating back to the early 1800's at least, with a wealth of exposed original oak A-Frame beams in the living area and throughout beautifully decorated with simple modern style and top quality fittings and furnishings. Your luxury accommodation is also situated in Dartmouth's Town Centre with parking and shopping conveniently to hand, including M&S Food plus the local artisan marketplace. From the South side you have sunshine all day and views to the River and historic buildings, whilst the North side overlooks historic Undercliffe and is comfortably cool in the summer. With this central location all of the shops and activities Dartmouth has to offer are quite literally only a stone's throw away.
Dragon's Nest and the other 2 bedroom apartment on the floor below, George's Den, are both created above the completely new George and Dragon Inn, the old pub has been restored and extended to create a unique blend of old and new and is now the latest foodie destination in Dartmouth. Take the tour here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@50.352782,-3.5791245,2a,75y,323.39h,79.21t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swji0fWyUejwAAAQ8sVbSMw!2e0!7i12536!8i6268

It also benefits from the only Beer garden in Town – perfect for dining al-fresco in the summer, sunny patios in the day and heat lamps for cooler evenings. Dragon's Nest and George's Den are accessed by their own front doors located in historic Undercliffe, which is the narrow street behind and what was originally the front of the George & Dragon, which has also been beautifully restored, including the original ships timbers used as beams and the apartment window surrounds on the upper floors that are all original.
Dragon's Nest always feels warm and serene, a very comfortable home from home to relax, away from the crowd, yet close enough to be part of whatever events and happenings are going on in Dartmouth during your visit. Or indeed as the perfect base to simply relax or to explore the whole area, on foot, by car or by boat!
During Festivals and Events The George and Dragon sometimes has live music in the Main Bar or in the garden, only good talented local musicians – no disco karaoke noise labelled as music. In Dragon's Nest you may hear the music with the windows open, but closed then barely a murmur. Although whenever there is Live Music you must feel free to join in – it is always free too!Additionally as guests staying in Dragon's Nest you also get a fantastic offer of 25% off an evening meal for up to four people in the George & Dragon during your stay – just call 01803 832325 or pop-in and book and tell them you are in Dragon's Nest – the food is really good quality and good value – check it out on Trip Advisor.  View The George and Dragon Pub on TripAdvisor - https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186253-d4301237-Reviews-The_George_and_Dragon-Dartmouth_Devon_England.html

Dragon's Nest is located up two flights of stairs from the front entrance. The second flight of stairs is narrow and curved so please be aware if some members of the party are younger or more mature in age. At the top of the stairs you'll find a door appropriately labelled Dragon's Nest, once you have entered you'll find a central hallway running through the apartment and along the hallway you'll find a central luggage storage, coat hangers and a cloths hanging area to store your coats, bags and other items away for the duration of your stay. There is also a vintage style sofa to relax on whilst unpacking and a modern Steam Generator iron is located in the cupboard, ready for any smart occasions you may have booked during your stay. Mind your head on the wealth of historic oak beams from the original A-frame of the roof, now fully restores, preserved and painted black to even up past centuries of hidden neglect.

The kitchen and dining room is open plan, more exposed beams, with kitchen units and appliances against the walls with the natural wood and cream extendable dining table dining table and four chairs in front of the window and a window seat, having views over the esplanade to the River and Kingswear on the other side. This room has a modern warm red, black and cream colour scheme, brand new appliances including a built in fan-oven and induction hob, a dishwasher and washing machine to help eliminate the household chores whilst you're on holiday. An under counter fridge is provided, a four-slot toaster, state-of-the-art microwave, plus a kettle and a coffee machine, to help with those mornings, whichever one you prefer. There is also an intercom telephone on the wall by the kitchen door which connects to the front door downstairs, handy for visitors, deliveries you may arrange, or in case someone goes out without a key of course.

The large and attractive living room is opposite the kitchen and dining room, and again decorated in stylish neutral colours and textiles, with even more of the restored original beams. There is ample comfortable seating with two large and deep, two-seater sofas and two medium sized bean bags, enough for all the family. In the centre of the room a quality glass topped cane coffee table is ready and waiting for the coffee or drinks to sip whilst you're watching the huge Samsung flat screen Smart TV. A DVD video player and a CD music player are also provided under the TV Table, along with a selection of DVD's and CD's to use if you wish. This room again is beautifully and thoughtfully put together providing a cosy, comfortable space to just relax and chill whenever throughout your stay.

Dragon's Nest has two double bedrooms, each with a superb Kingsize double bed. The first bedroom is positioned on the South side of the building, with views over Royal Avenue Gardens and the Esplanade to the river, and the second bedroom is directly opposite on the North side and remains snug in winter and cool in the summer. Both bedrooms are decorated in a simple style in neutral colours and modern natural wood and cream furniture to a high standard, each bedroom has the king size bed, a dressing table & stool, chair and mirror, plus two matching bedside tables and lamps (got to be one each side!). In the South bedroom there is also a Smart Samsung TV, a chest of drawers, wicker washing basket and wicker storage box. These modern bedrooms are both light and airy, with plenty of space, just far enough away from the river front that can be a bit busy and noisy in season, allowing you to sleep peacefully.

The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and is a very spacious walk-in shower room, comprising a very large, modern glass fronted walk in chrome finished and luxury tiled finish shower, within the shower cubical there are shelves available for your toiletries. Next to the shower you'll find a clothes airer and ironing board available for your use. There is also the wc with soft-close lid, hand wash basin, plus shaver point, illuminated mirror and additional toiletry storage boxes in this bathroom. Above the sink, with a swipe of your hand, LED lights around the mirror will switch on, actually a very helpful feature for putting on your make-up before a night out on the town. There is also a heated chrome towel rail, to keep the fluffy towels delightfully warm if your visit is not in the summer.

There is an annual parking permit for you to use in Mayors Avenue car park (This works on a first come first served basis)

This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable to Blueriver Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
