Our New Business Consultant, Natalie, loves nothing more than to spend a day with her family, enjoying all that Salcombe has to offer! Here's just a few of her favourite ways to spend time in this most picturesque town.

  • South Sands Ferry

One of the most iconic sights in Salcombe is watching the South Sands Ferry go across Salcombe Estuary over to South Sands beach where the sea tractor is awaiting to collect you and bring you ashore. Such a fun and unique way to take in the gorgeous views across the estuary.

  • Crabbing

A popular family activity in Salcombe is crabbing. Children love dangling their crab lines over the harbour wall to entice those fascinating little creatures to choose their line!  Many a happy afternoon or early morning can be spent catching crabs and then releasing them on the water’s edge.

  • Salcombe Gin

Nestled amongst traditional boatbuilders on Island Street, at one of the world’s only distilleries directly accessible by boat, Salcombe Distilling Co. creates exceptional, handcrafted gin. With its waterside distillery bar, it’s a place to sit back with a Gin & Tonic and watch the distillery in action.

  • Overbeck’s, National Trust

Perched high on the clifftops above Salcombe, it provides some of the most fabulous views across the Salcombe estuary. The gardens are home to a wide range of sub-tropical plants and beautiful, colourful herbaceous borders.

  • Day at the Beach

Salcombe is home to beautiful sandy beaches, turquoise waters and waterside eateries. A family favourite and only a 15-minute walk from the town centre is North Sands beach, great for building sandcastles, paddle boarding and also home to the very popular Winking Prawn. Further round is South Sands beach, another family favourite and accessible by South Sands Ferry. On the opposite side of the estuary you’ll find several picturesque coves such as Mill Bay and Sunny Cove, popular with those who have their own boats.
